The mission of HisNets is to provide a Christian response to the global malaria epidemic.
By distributing insecticide-treated bed nets to those most vulnerable to malaria, HisNets can increase the number of persons who sleep under bed nets, thus reducing the number of global malaria deaths and improving the quality life of those in malaria-prone areas.
One nets costs around $8, so for less than the price of a dinner or movie, lives can be saved and an entire family can sleep in peace. These special nets continue to protect families from mosquitoes, and thus malaria, four up to four years. These nets have been proven to cut the incidents of malaria infections by half and child deaths from malaria by one-fifth.
The New Testament says that Jesus spent most of his time teaching, feeding, and healing. This combination of activities spoke to the basic needs of people to be healthy both physically and spiritually. For centuries, Christian ministers and missionaries have continued to do these same things at home and around the world. For the most part, the need has not changed since Jesus walked this earth.
